HBO Max added a number of films this month, lining up the streaming premiere of A24’s romantic comedy Materialists.

‘Materialists’ (2025)
It may be too early to tell Dakota Johnson has shed the stigma Mrs. Webbut she did have a modest hit rom-com in A24’s earlier this year Materialists. Lucy Mason (Johnson) is a woman who has been unlucky in love, but she prides herself on her ability to bring compatible men and women together as a professional matchmaker.
At a wedding for one of her clients, Lucy is reunited with John Pitts (Chris Evans), her ex-boyfriend, with whom she may still have some lingering feelings. Lucy also meets Harry Castillo (Pedro Pascal), a very wealthy man who has more than just a professional interest in her. Lucy sees qualities she likes in both Harry and John, but even she isn’t sure if her material needs outweigh the emotions of her heart.
Materialists will continue streaming HBOMax on November 7.
‘Hellboy’ (2004)
