Waymo driverless car drives passenger in circles – VIDEO
Here’s a new way to miss a flight… a Waymo passenger says his driverless ride to the airport would constantly take him around in circles… and he documented his travel nightmare on video.
Images show a man’s name Mike Johns in the back of his Waymo ride, which won’t stop circling a parking lot.
Mike calls Waymo customer service to report the problem and tells them he’s at risk of missing his flight… but the rep can’t stop the car… and Mike continues to drive in a circle.
It’s funny… Mike wonders if he’s being made fun of, and he says it feels like he’s in a sci-fi thriller.
In the end, Mike says his Waymo drove him around in eight circles… and he ended up missing his flight.
Mike claims he has not yet received compensation for the missed flight, slamming Waymo for lacking empathy and ignoring him with a customer service department that is completely automated and run by artificial intelligence.
It seems the experience is souring Waymo for Mike…the next time he needs a ride, he says he’ll keep it old school with a Lyft or Uber.
Waymo – run by Google’s parent company Alphabet Inc. – is still quite new in the taxi industry… and it is clear that there are still some hiccups to be ironed out.
