The chance is endless: a call for action

“What are you talking about?” I asked.
‘Jen, did you fund something? 260 million last year? ‘
“Yes….” (continues to browse through the magazine, irritated that he has ruined my daydream of shopping at Chopard without understanding mathematics)
“Jen, did you know that in 2024 more than 1.5 trillion of loans financed in the United States and more than 5 million mortgages. Jen, the chance is endless. You didn’t even scratch the surface.”
My husband then proceeded to calculate everyone I knew, the property of the mortgage industry to show me the vastness of the chance. Here is the thing: my husband was a former trader with fixed interest in the day and has built a successful fintech venture capital firm for the past 10+ years. When the man says that an opportunity is missed, it is the key to pay attention.
I now share that chance with you because there is more than enough for everyone. Grabbing this opportunity will benefit millions of Americans by making their dreams come true.
(Note from the author: If you are an unethical lender who likes to sell consumers, you have no chance. More about this next month)
The worst year in history, and more than 5 million mortgages were closed in the US. This, my friends, is an endless chance. Keep in mind that Americans are currently told every day by the regular media and housing crash Bros that they can never afford a house, all housing is too expensive, rates are too high and they have to wait. We are at a low layer for consumer sentiment about housing; More than 1.5 trillion and 5 million mortgages were still taking place.
What if we, as an industry against the negative news and social media, would fight Americans against a future of the tenant nat and would show them the path home? I know how I can get them there, and if you read this, you probably do that too. What if we started to emphasize as an industry how easy it is to buy a house? What if we showed how many negative home news is just wrong, because that is the truth. The housing news is always terrible, which is not the world I know.
Here is the world that I see. The American dream is not dead. Every day I help people buy houses throughout the country. For the first time I help buyers at home with 3% lower, veterans who fall zero and mum and pop investors who buy their 2nd or third real estate. I help people to be planning to buy in 2-5 years. I have difficult conversations about finances and may celebrate when a customer has done his homework, returns and is ready to become a homeowner. I can share the joy when a customer plants their first garden, marks the length of his child in the wall and the first family -Thaksgiving throws where they are host. I help parents to plan their children for their first home. That is something that I now do with my son, and I have to say, as a mother, as soon as he gets those keys, the smile he will have on his face is something that I will never forget. It will be one of the most proud moments of my life. Think of those moments and how they make you feel.
Just like the regular media, the mortgage industry has been stuck in a gloom in recent years, and it is time to turn it off. It is time to remember what buying a house actually does for someone’s life and to concentrate on the fact that homeowner is the #1 builder of wealth for the average American. Our task as lenders is to help people find the path home. We know how to do it.
What inspiration needed? I recently saw Rocket’s new advertising campaign and I have to tell you, I am in love. I love their marketing so much because it is not as much marketing if it reminds people that “everyone should get the chance to buy a house.” The ‘Take Me Home Rocket’ campaign is beautiful and reminds of what Americans really want. A roof over their heads – that they own – eat on the table and time to enjoy family and loved ones. It also reminds me of my favorite all -time campaign that guaranteed rate is being performed. It was the “The Believe You Will” campaign. Sometimes people just have to know that they can buy a house. Time for you to show them how. The chance is endless.
