‘Tell Me Lies’ renewed for season 3 on Hulu

“Tell Me Lies” has been renewed for a third season on Hulu.

Tell Me Lies, based on the novel of the same name by Carola Lovering, stars Grace Van Patten as Lucy Albright, who meets Stephen DeMarco (Jackson White) in college and enters into a tumultuous relationship with him. The series follows them and the ways their relationship changes the lives of everyone around them over the course of eight years. According to the official logline for season 2, Lucy and Stephen “return to college, without speaking after their dramatic breakup at the beginning of the summer. But while they deeply disagree, they find themselves in a new version of their addictive dynamic.”

In addition to Van Patten and White, the cast includes Cat Missal, Spencer House, Sonia Mena, Branden Cook, Alicia Crowder and Tom Ellis.

Meaghan Oppenheimer serves as showrunner and executive producer of “Tell Me Lies.” Executive producers also include Emma Roberts through her Belletrist banner, along with co-founder Karah Preiss and Matt Matruski; Laura Lewis and Stephanie Noonan for Rebelle Media; Shannon Gibson; and Sam Schlaifer. Lovering serves as a consulting producer. 20th Television is the studio.

“Tell Me Lies” debuted in 2022, with season 2 premiering in September of this year and concluding on October 16. Hulu says the season stayed in the Top 15 for more than 50 days.

Season 3 will likely begin with a time jump, Oppenheimer said in a Variety interview about the season 2 finale. She also elaborated on her thoughts behind the show’s concurrent timelines, saying, “As time goes on, we’ll get more and more of the future. I think we’ll still have some of 2008 by the third season because there’s stuff we need to wrap up there. But I think it would have shifted a little bit, in the sense that there will probably be more 2015 than 2008.”
