Steve Martin jokes about Martin Short, Meryl Streep dating rumors

Steve Martin‘s turning many X users into amateur sleuths… who scoff at speculation about Martijn Kort And Meryl Streep — and sending the internet into overdrive.

The comedic actor shared a photo from a Glamor article earlier Saturday that shows all three of them… his own face crossed out with a large red circle with a line through it.

SM didn’t add a caption to the post, leaving fans to speculate on his intentions… and they went wild over the post – wondering if this was Steve pushing hard on their relationship.

Clearly it doesn’t take a professional true crime podcaster to know that Steve is just joking here… he’s making the internet look like an idiot – which probably doesn’t validate the status of a relationship he’s not a part of.

Still, that didn’t stop a lot of people online from claiming this was 100% real… panicking because they think Steve is breaking the news about Meryl and Martin.

Of course, we’re not sure what Steve’s intention was with the post, so we reached out to make sure we don’t look like “The Jerk” in this situation. Honestly, though, it seems unlikely that this is a serious coming out for the couple.

Of course, Meryl and Martin have had fans’ ears perked up ever since they played love interests on “Only Murders in the Building”… with photos of them together IRL fanning the flames of speculation.

Short said earlier the two are just friends …although that’s not unusual for celebrities in this position.
