Spotify partners with ElevenLabs to expand its library of AI-narrated audiobooks

Thursday, Spotify announced That it now accepts Audiobooks told using the AI Voice technology from Elevenlabs. In view of the fact that ELFLabs is currently among the most recognized AI audio providers, this new partnership is expected to stimulate the amount of AI-paved audio books on the platform.

To upload an audio book told by AI, authors must download the Elflabs file package and then visit Findaway Voices, the Distribution Service of Spotify. The admission must then go through an assessment process before it can be published. Spotify labels titles that have been told by AI.

With Elflabs, authors can tell their audio books in 29 different languages. Although the free version only makes text-to-speech possible every month, it generates $ 99/month Pro plan up to 500 minutes of story.

The latest collaboration comes two years after Spotify collaborated with Google Play Books To offer AI-cautious audio books. Spotify is planning to collaborate with more companies to expand its audio book library.

However, the emergence of AI-generated audio books is expected to cause a significant debate within the publishing house. Some industry professionals claim that these AI recordings can jeopardize the overall quality of audio books for listeners.
