Meta’s head of AI research plans to leave the company

Meta’s VP from AI Research, Joelle Pineau, is planning to leave the company, she announced in a Post on Facebook Tuesday. Pineau said she will leave in May after more than two years of supervising HONESTLYMeta’s Internal AI Research Lab led by Yann Lecun.

Pineau’s exit comes when Meta increases its AI efforts, whereby the company plans to spend $ 65 billion on AI infrastructure in 2025.

In a statement to Bloomberg Newssaid a meta spokesperson that the company has no immediate replacement for Pineau, but performs a search for her successor. Last year reportedly meta reorganized the company To have his AI Research Unit report to the Chief Product Officer of the company, Chris Cox.
