Martha Stewart Says She Cheated on Her Ex-Husband in the Netflix Doc Trailer
Martha Stewart shares her highs and lows in a new, untitled documentary, including the revelation that she once had an extramarital affair.
“I was thought crazy, but it worked. Young women listened to my advice,” Stewart, 83, said on Thursday, October 19. trailer for the Netflix program. “If you’re married and your husband starts cheating on you, he’s a piece of s… Get out of that marriage.”
Producers then asked her about her own affair, to which Stewart replied, “Yes, but I don’t think Andy ever knew about that.”
The TV star was married to ex-husband Andrew Stewartwith whom she shared daughter Alexis between 1961 and 1990. She debuted her three years after their divorce Martha Stewart Living daytime series that inspired a magazine of the same name. Martha became a host The Martha Stewart Show and author of a number of cookbooks.
“What’s more important? A marriage or a career?” Stewart asked in the trailer. ‘Just tell me. Don’t know. The cookie cutter house and the cookie cutter life were not for me.”
She added, “I had two mottos: learn something new every day and when you’re done changing, you’re done. I could have just been a miserable housewife, but I didn’t let that happen to myself – and I’m so glad I didn’t.”
Martha didn’t let anything stop her business success, which left her feeling like she was “on top of the world,” until her arrest in 2004. The lifestyle expert was found guilty on charges of conspiracy to obstruct and making false statements statements to the federal government
investigators, who were later sentenced to five months in prison and two years of supervised release. She was released from prison in March 2005.
“I had to climb out of a hole,” she recalled, also referencing the resulting rapper friendship Snoop Dogg And Sports illustrated swimsuit modeling.
The film, directed by R.J. Cutlerexamines Martha’s career over the years.

Martha recently gave Us an exclusive look at how she still does it all.
