While he apologized for a 2018 interview in which he took credit for Julia’s stardom — and admitted he made it up — he lambasted her performance in the 1989 film. Steel Magnoliaswhich earned Julia her first Academy Awards nod.

‘Julia was good at it Mystical pizzagreat inside Beautiful womanbut not much in it Steel Magnoliasin my opinion,” wrote Eric, an Oscar-nominated actor.
“I don’t want to sound like a talking actor, or a jealous sibling, but I don’t think her performance in that movie helps.”

‘She says Eric actually knows very little about her, and that he used her life to help sell his book is inexcusable – but she won’t tell him that.
