Josh Gad reveals that he has lost 40 pounds in GLP-1 medication
Josh Gad is open about the success of the weight loss he has had with GLP-1 medication and sharing some of the conflicting feelings he has had on the way.
“I am on a GLP-1 … This is the first time I have been opened about this,” the actor, 43, unveiled during Monday 27 January, episode of Dax Shepard‘s Podcast’ Armchair Expert ‘. “It has suppressed that sound suppresses in a great way. … when I wake up, I feel hungry pains – and so much of them is psychological, right? And what this does is that it takes away that signal. “
GLP-1 drugs, including Ozempic and Mounjaro, are a class of medicines that were originally developed to treat diabetes. They can also be prescribed for weight loss in combination with food and exercise.
Gad revealed on Monday that he lost 40 pounds on the first GLP-1 that he tried, but had to change medicines because he developed diverticulitis, an inflammation of small bags that build in the colon.
“It’s a meadow,” he said. “I was really explained because it worked incredibly to me and I had to switch.”
The Frozen Star noted that his medication does not mean that he can eat what he wants or skip the gym.
“I am sorting out this new, and it is life -changing, but it does not wonder that it cannot be instead of a healthy relationship with food,” he explained. “It cannot be instead of a healthy relationship with exercise. … I have my own journey with it. Sometimes I feel that I cheat myself by doing this. “
GAD further admitted that he was worried about what his weight loss will mean for his career.
‘I have always been the funny fat guy. Can I be the funny skinny guy? Can I be the hot leading man? “He wondered.” I don’t know that people would accept me if those things would accept. “
However, his children are the most important thing that his journey drives up. The comedian shares daughters Ava, 14, and Isabella, 10, with wife Ida Darvish.
‘I’m not worried about [my career] Because my primary goal is, I want to be there for my children, “said Gad. “All the other is bulls -.”
Gad also said that Darvish, 49, is worried that he will not tackle the underlying problems that the weight gain caused in the past, and notes that she is “not excited”, he takes the medication.
