Joe Biden conducts final presidential interview with Lawrence O’Donnell

For the final interview of his presidency, Joe Biden will sit down in the Oval Office with MSNBC host Lawrence O’Donnell. The discussion will air on January 16 at 10pm ET on MSNBC.

According to the official press release, “Biden will discuss his legacy as he prepares to leave the White House following the inauguration of President-elect Trump, his five decades of public service, and his economic and legislative achievements that will continue beyond his presidency.”

Another possible talking point could be that Biden pardoned his son Hunter Biden in December. Although he previously stated he would not pardon him, the 46th president has cleared his son of any legal consequences following charges of gun-related crimes in Delaware and tax evasion issues in California.

“I believe in the justice system, but as I have struggled with this, I also believe that raw politics has infected this process and led to a miscarriage of justice – and once I made this decision this weekend, there was no point in acting it out set. further,” Biden said at the time. “I hope Americans will understand why a father and a president would come to this decision.”

Political tensions have remained high as President-elect Trump’s inauguration on January 20 looms in the near future. In November, Biden promised a “peaceful and orderly” transfer of power to Trump, reassuring his supporters that “things will be fine.”

“We accept the choice the country has made,” Biden said. “You can’t love your country only when you win. You cannot love your neighbor unless you agree.”

Biden has appeared on O’Donnell’s show “The Last Word” several times since he was Barack Obama’s vice president. Notably, in 2021, Biden appeared on the show during the first 100 days of his administration, discussing the Covid pandemic and the still-fresh January 6 Capitol riots.
