Hugh Jackman announces career change to ‘Weg van Druk’ from Showbizz

According to PosterSaid Friedman and Jackman in a joint explanation: “With director Ian Rickson we wanted to create a company where actors, writers and directors could experiment, explore and take risks, away from the pressure that is often associated with the commercial theater world. Together it is about going back to the basics of live performance.
“At the same time, this is not about our steps away from Broadway or the West End – it is about supporting and beside them next to them. We are always attracted to theater because of the raw energy – the excitement of a first reading, the joy of an unexpected role, that feeling of a shared experience. With Ian is our way of parts with Audi, making our trial.
“We also want to embrace flexibility or now that varied performance schedules are during the week or plays in repertoire, so that productions and ideas can evolve in a spontaneous and organic way. By removing some of the usual limitations, we hope to create a space where the productions can feel fresh, living and always.”
