Georgia MLS is working with twelve local governments to improve access to data
Georgia MLS has made other technology-enabled efforts to improve data availability for agents. It recently released a mobile app, GAMLS connectNOW, that allows agents to access data anywhere.
According to Richard Boone, CEO of Georgia MLS, the organization wants to provide subscribers with the most accurate experience.
“For 63 years, Georgia MLS has been committed to providing our subscribers with the most efficient and accurate real estate marketplace,” Boone said in a statement. “This geographic expansion and sharing of listing data significantly increases opportunities for members in participating MLSs. This partnership will benefit thousands of agents across Georgia, ultimately allowing them to provide a higher level of service to the customers they serve.”
Seven of the local MLSs included in the deal are in the southern region of the state. These MLSs include the Albany Board of Realtors, Council of Tift Area Realtors, Crisp Area Board of Realtors, Board of Realtors in Thomasville Area, Moultrie Council of Real Estate Agents, Board of Realtors of Southwest GA and the Douglas-Coffee County Real Estate Board.
The remaining MLSs are distributed in other parts of the state and in the Atlanta metro region. All agents serving these regions now have access to listings within the statewide MLS.
The Georgia MLS reported 21,701 active listings in December 2024, down about 5% from November’s 22,933 listings. But this was also more than 40% more than the 15,429 mentions in December 2023.
Home buyers remained active in the Georgian market during the festive season, with overall sales volume growing from November to December. According to Georgia MLS, members built $3.4 billion in home sales volume in December alone. Georgia MLS attributes this Federal Reserve interest rate cuts and lower mortgage rates during the holidays.
But in December, home sales outpaced new homes, following a two-month trend driven by the so-called lock-in effect. Still, 9,027 ads arrived in Georgia in December. As the 2025 housing market takes shape, Georgia MLS is urging subscribers to take advantage of increased accessibility and new tools to serve customers.
