Former ‘Today’ Show Show Sex Creep Matt Lauer Looks At TV Comeback

As for Lauer, he was fired in 2017 after an avalanche of sexual misconduct claims — including rape — which he denies.

Brooke Nevils, an assistant producer for Lauer’s co-host Meredith Vieira, alleged that he assaulted her in his hotel room while both were covering the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi.

She said in a statement at the time: “There is the Matt Lauer that millions of Americans watched on TV every morning for 20 years, and there is the Matt Lauer who tried to silence a former colleague this morning.”

Nevils added: “His open letter was a case study in victim blaming. I’m not afraid of him now. Regardless of his threats, bullying, and the shaming and predatory tactics I knew he would try (and has now tried) against me. .”
