Former Disney Channel actor says he’s being harassed over child seduction case
One of the stars of a Disney Channel show says he’s being harassed at his new job throwing ice cream because of his previous arrest and conviction for interacting with a minor online.
Stony Westmorelandwho played the grandpa in “Andi Mack,” ran to court to get a restraining order against a former neighbor who keeps showing up at the Cold Stone Creamery where Westmoreland works.
In the documents, Westmoreland says the man told the store’s owner and manager lies about him, accosted Cold Stone customers and told them he was a “child molester.” He says he fears the man’s actions, which became increasingly popular around the holidays.
Westmoreland says the man showed up at the ice cream parlor and adjacent business on December 21, 22, 26 and 27 and warned people about the “unregistered child molester” working at the store.
He says the man tells “lies about me and my legal history,” but the documents don’t show which part Westmoreland considers a lie.
As we reported, he was arrested in 2018 and charged in Utah with enticing a minor via the internet. Prosecutors said he arranged sex with someone he met online who was believed to be 13 years old.
He eventually pleaded guilty to a lesser charge, and so it was sentenced to 2 years in prison. He’s now working in LA, but says he’s worried his alleged harasser will turn violent – claiming the man “trembles like he’s about to snap” when he shows up at the store.
Westmoreland is seeking a temporary restraining order requiring the man to stay 50 yards away from his home and work, and to cease all contact with or harassment of Westmoreland.
The judge granted the TRO and scheduled a hearing in February for both sides to express their views.
