Errol Barnett will anchor 7 AM Slot at CBS News 24/7

CBS and CNN veteran Errol Barnett will appear at 7 a.m. on CBS 24/7, the livestreaming hub of CBS News. His tenure in the hour starts on Monday.

Barnett appeared Friday morning as the hour’s current host, Anne-Marie Green, said goodbye. She’s moving to ’48 Hours’. “I know the show is in good hands,” Green told him. “I hope to bring out the essence of curiosity and passion that you bring,” he said, noting that coverage on his first day, Oct. 7, would refer to the anniversary of Hamas’s attacks on Israel.

Barnett joined CBS News in 2016 and has held assignments as a weekend White House correspondent and a transportation reporter during his tenure. He has also worked as a fill-in for “CBS Mornings,” “CBS Saturday Morning” and “CBS Weekend News,” and he has explored issues related to technology, including documentaries on cryptocurrency mining and the growth of e-sports. . Barnett has collected a handful of CBS News Special Reports from New York and Washington DC, and also reported 24/7 for CBS on the recent criminal case against former President Donald Trump.

He previously worked for CNN Barnett, including a stint at CNN International and one as host of ‘Inside Africa’.

Barnett began his journalism career at the age of 18 after being hired in Los Angeles as the youngest anchor and reporter for Channel One News. Barnett reported on the September 11 terrorist attacks, then-Senator Barack Obama’s first national address, interviewed Congressman John Lewis and detailed the heroin epidemic in New England.
