Jack Abernethy, CEO of Fox Television Stations, has sent a note to staff members who address the advertisement of Kanye West Yeezy.com that ran on three of his markets, including KTTV Fox 11 from Los Angeles, during the Super Bowl. The place caused indignation, because West has regularly posted anti-Semitic messages on his social media, while he also proclaimed himself as a Nazi and then started selling a T-shirt with a swastika on the advertised website.
“We regret that these commercials have been broadcast in these three markets and we strongly condemn any form of anti -Semitism,” wrote Abernethy in his e -mail to FOX TV stations.
When Variety Reported on Monday, the place of 30 seconds, which was placed by the USIM Media Buying Agency, did not cause red flags when it was submitted because it was before the recent eruptions of West and the Low-Budget Commercial, Scot What a dental chair seemed to be because West said he was filming it on an iPhone, contained no doubtful content. Until the advertisement actually ran, the Yeezy.com website contained a store selection of Shopify-driven stores of different non-brand articles of clothing such as shirts, pants and jackets that would have been considered a problem.
But then, after the advertisement, Yeezy.com eliminated his merchandise and only set up one item: a Swastika T-shirt for sale, each for $ 20.
“The advertisement, which was presented as a legitimate online clothing site before and during the broadcast of the Super Bowl, was subsequently switched and completely outside our station control, the respondents were diverted to the commercials to the marketing of a completely apple product , “Aberethy added to his note.
On Tuesday, Shopify said that the Yeezy store was attracted, and added that the website “had no authentic commercial practices and has violated our conditions.” The X -profile of West is deactivated after days of the rapper who posts anti -Semitic, misogynistic and pornographic messages. West stated: “I am a Nazi” and called Hitler “so fresh” days before his account closed. His X posts were widely convicted by anti-hate organizations such as the Anti-Defamation League and the American Jewish Committee.
Here is Abernethy’s remark for staff:
To all FTS -employees:
I just wanted to take the time to tackle a commercial that ran on three of our local television station markets during Super Bowl Lix on Fox.
The advertisement, which was presented as a legitimate online clothing site before and during the broadcasting of the Super Bowl, was subsequently switched afterwards and completely outside our stations, respondents to the commercials were diverted to the marketing of a completely terrible product.
We regret that these commercials have been broadcast in these three markets and we strongly condemn any form of anti -Semitism.
As you know, FOX is a strong in favor of organizations such as the ‘Foundation to combat anti-Semitism’, the ‘United Jewish Appeal Federation’ and others through direct support or on-Air promotion of their campaigns and we will continue to work together in combating them of anti -Semitism.
