Another PowerSman of celebrities in South California just welcomed new offspring this week in their herd … but you have to look at their webcam to take a look!
Jackie and Shadow, a few bare eagles who live high in a tree in Big Bear Valley – about two hours east of La – Two new Eaglets welcomed on Monday evening and Tuesday morning, and a camera recorded the moment live while two of the three eggs finally opened after weeks of anticipation.
Jackie and Shadow have previously had Eaglets – in 2019 and 2022 – but they lost a few eggs in 2023 due to a brutal meeting with ravens, and lost three more in March 2024 when Snowing again Jackie and the eggs.
As you can see this time, Jackie carefully shifts her weight on top of a new hatchling, so that it stays warm while the newborn extends and adapts to his new life on the camera.
This 145-foot high nest in the San Bernardino National Forest has real history-prawns by Jackie’s parents, Lucy and Ricky, Jackie returned to reclaim the nest to continue her pedigree after he had gone out.
She was soon seduced by a single male freer, an eagle named Mr. B – And they had one Eaglet together, called Stormy – but their romance was demolished when a new mysterious Baldy named Shadow in 2018 from Mr. B had been chased … and these two have been together since then.

Monday happened to be the third anniversary of their first Eaglet, Spirit. But these two newcomers have no names yet. And the third is still waiting for pipe – the cracking of the egg from the inside, indicating that it is on its way.
The Nature Conservation Group Friends of Big Bear Valley Set up the camera in the forest to capture special moments for scientific research and to offer the public a nice interaction with nature … without people having to pull the snow – especially because Eagles tend to leave their nests when they are disturbed by people.
Congratulations to the new parents!
