Recent rumors that the Georgia Sheriff’s Office was warning Black women of possible Ku Klux Klan attacks spread widely online, falsely suggesting the warning was issued before Election Day 2024, RadarOnline.com can reveal.

Claims of violence at polling stations were refuted, with concerns that whispers of KKK attacks could deter citizens in the key battleground state from voting.

The Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office, the source of the alleged warning, clarified in a statement on Nov. 2: “We have not received any information indicating threats to any group(s) on or after Election Day.

It said: “If you observe anything unusual or suspicious at your polling place, please report it to your local law enforcement agency by calling 911. Voting is a fundamental right and an essential part of our democracy. We encourage all voters to exercise their right. to vote peacefully and respectfully.”

The widespread rumor – which spread via Instagram and Threads – began circulating on November 1 and became widely known on Election Day.

Some even claimed they received the alert on the neighborhood app NextDoor.

The message read: “Hey ladies, I just received this from a friend who works at the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office!!! Be alert…”

Georgia’s Democrats warned voters not to vote for a far-right ‘Democrat’.

It continued: “Last night, a sheriff’s deputy told a family that local white supremacist/KKK members originating from Lexington, NC, plan to attack from now until the inauguration.

“They are plotting against black people, especially black women, because in their eyes we are an easy target! Please be vigilant!”

However, no credible reports have surfaced before Tuesday about possible attacks targeting Black women in the county, who supported Joe Biden in the 2020 election.

A polling place in Gwinnett County, a suburb of Atlanta, was closed for about an hour Tuesday afternoon due to a non-credible bomb threat, CNN reported.

The Georgian Foreign Minister’s office asked a judge to extend voting hours at the affected locations to compensate for the lost time.
