‘Arcane’ Team is launching the last season, teases more Caitlin and VI

The last episodes of “Arcane: League of Legends” affected Netflix perhaps six months ago, but Fan Fervor for the Emmy-winning series is nowhere in the vicinity of death.

In a sold-out May 10 interview with Variety In Alhambra’s Gallery Nucleus (who is currently houses a collection Of the “Arcane” concept work and tribute artwork of more than 30 artists), the creatives behind “Arcane” have unpacked the epic last season and plagued what the next one can be for some fan-favorite characters.

The emotional last moments of the series between Sisters Jinx (Ella Purnell) and VI (Hailee Steinfeld) were conceived more than six years ago when “Arcane” became a workshop for the first time, said screenwriter and co-executive producer Amanda Overton.

“Originally it was considered one season. It was nine episodes. The big battle you saw during season 2 was actually the end of season 1. And after they had finished the writer’s room, we made the decision to move that and make that story that story. We are now going to spend a whole season,” she said. “That first version was a tragedy, because they could not solve any of their problems. In season 2 we can give them that.”

Jinx and VI’s sisterhood was always a leading light in the series, but a different relationship took great advantage of the extra room that offered the second season: Caitlyn (Katie Leung) and VI. Season 2 closes together with the young women after they finally admitted their feelings for each other (and have endured countless ups and downs while the war was raging between Piltover and Zaun). Their development relationship also included a steaming love scene that became the most determined moment in the history of Netflix.

“I wanted the conflict around them to come together, but not be the story. I was tired of the conflict and the drama was: “I’m gay” or “I’m coming out.” We have all removed that through the world construction of the show, just saying that this is not a world where homophobia is, “said Overton.

“Arcane” co-director and creative director of Fortiche production Barthelemy Maunoury said it was good to get the first kiss of the couple one of the most important tasks of the animation team. “Everyone in the studio was very excited to work on that. Animation takes a lot of time. We animate half a second a day a day, so we usually avoid long shots. That is the longest recording of the show: 40 seconds. It took the animators for three months to animate, but we knew we had to make it great.”

To the question of a fan-beneficial question about the future of Caitlyn’s relationship and VI, “Arcane” Showrunner and executive producer and head of the animation studio of Riot Games, Christian Linke refused to work out.

Overton eagerly shared her own ideas where the beloved couple could go after. “These characters are very young in the show. They are like 20 or whatever. We have not grown up VI, or to be honest, Caitlyn, the show was that they were growing up,” she said. “Now they can wonder:” Who am I when I have no one to protect? Because everything she did was try to protect someone next to herself. “
