Animation is film reveals Oktoberdata, Fest -poster

Animation is Film (AIF), the acclaimed Los Angeles -based Animation Sister Festival of the iconic Annecy Animation Festival of France, has announced his return of 2025 with a run planned from Friday 17 October to Sunday 19 October, in the Historic TCL Chinese theaters in Hollywood.

Now in the eighth year, the festival will again celebrate the art and innovation of animated Cinema, presented in collaboration with the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, GKids and Variety.

“Since its foundation, it has been animation that the goal of the film has been to celebrate the idea that animation is pushing the boundaries of what is capable of cinema. The growth of the festival year after year is a confirmation that the American public embraces this. 2025 is an extraordinary year for the medium.

“We are proud to be a partner for Animation is Film, a festival that celebrates animation as a bold, border-coil art form,” added Mickaël Marin, director-general and CEO of Annecy Festival. “Every year it brings together a passionate community of cinephiles and animation lovers in the heart of Los Angeles. We are very happy to continue this journey, united by a shared love for animated stories telling in all its forms.”

To mark the announcement, the festival also unveiled its 2025 Teaser poster, made by the French artist Camille Authonart. Autonsart’s short film “La Grande Arche” was on display in AIF in 2023.

Animation is that film has become an important stop on the road to the award season, with many films that premiered or get early traction at the festival. During the 2024 edition, the Grand Jury Prize went to “Flow”, who won both an Academy Award and a Golden Globe. The Oscar-winning short “In The Shadow of the Cypress” also had his Los Angeles premiere in AIF.

In recent years, much -praised and awarded titles such as “The Boy and the Heron” by Hayao Miyazaki, “Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio” and “Encanto” from Disney Early Events have held at the festival.

AIF was founded in 2017 and continues to play a unique role in the US by offering a world -class platform for animated cinema, celebrating the full artistic potential of the medium.
