Amanda Knox Hulu Series Adds Four to Cast

The Amanda Knox limited series on Hulu has added four new cast members, Variety has learned.

The series is currently called ‘Amanda’ and consists of John Hoogenakker (‘The Morning Show’, ‘Dopesick’), Francesco Acquaroli (‘Suburra: Blood on Rome’, ‘Diaz-Don’t Clean Up This Blood’), Giuseppe De Domenico (“ZeroZeroZero,” “Bang Bang Baby”) and Roberta Mattei (“Italian Race,” “Sweet India”).

The quartet joins previously announced series lead Grace Van Patten and Sharon Horgan, who will play Knox’s mother Edda Mellas.

Hoogenakker will play Curt Knox, described as “Amanda Knox’s fun-loving but stoic father who, despite his divorce from her mother, is a wonderful father to his daughters. He is leading the charge to defend his daughter in the press.” Acquaroli stars as Giuliano Mignini, “the Italian prosecutor in Amanda Knox’s case. A man with a need to prove himself, he is convinced from the start of Amanda’s involvement in the murder, and he finds his life and legacy defined by his relationship with her.

De Domenico will play Raffaele Sollecito, “Amanda Knox’s friend at the time of the murder and often forgotten co-suspect, a child with deep principles, who was drawn into her horror story by pure chance.” Finally, Mattei will play Monica Napoleoni, “the sharp, fashionable and aggressive head of the assassination department in Perugia, and Mignini’s right-hand man. She is convinced of Amanda and Raffaele’s guilt and is relentless in her pursuit.”

Hoogenakker is represented by Stewart Talent, Industry Entertainment and Hansen Jacobson. Acquaroli is represented by Diberti & C. Italy. De Domenico is represented by Agave Talent. Mattei is represented by AL Management.
