Alec Baldwin back on ‘SNL’ after ‘Rust’ case, mocks Fox News’ Kamala Harris interview
Alec Baldwin made an unexpected return to ‘Saturday Night Live’ months after charges were dropped against him in the ‘Rust’ case – and he took Kamala Harris‘heated interview with Bret Baier.
Baldwin, who famously played Donald Trumpplayed opposite Baier instead Maya Rudolf as Vice President Harris … a repeat of last week’s question-and-answer session between the Fox News host and the Democratic presidential candidate for Saturday night’s Cold Open.
It was Baldwin’s first appearance on ‘SNL’ since the manslaughter case was suddenly dismissed in July because prosecutors in the “Rust” shooting case withheld evidence.
The ‘SNL’ skit started with Baldwin’s face slathered in makeup flashing on the screen, welcoming Kamala to the stage. Maya walked out in her Kamala outfit and sat in chairs across from Baldwin.
Just as the real interview was happening, Alec and Maya were talking over each other the entire time… starting with the opening salvo: they asked the Veep how many millions of murderers she was letting into the country through illegal immigration.
The skit’s punchline came when Bret accused Kamala of trying to capture a viral moment, firing back at her that he just wanted to get her to say “something bad.”
As they went back and forth, Alec told Maya that she looks sexy when she’s angry. Hilarious moment in the skit…but one that DIDN’T happen IRL.
The opening skit of ‘SNL’ also featured the man who currently plays Trump, James Austin Johnson – while absurdly discussing transgender issues and hilariously dancing to “YMCA” by The Village People – both of which DID happen IRL.
