Norbert, best known as the viral high-fiving therapy dog, died … this according to his owner, Julie Steines.
Julie shared the gloomy update Instagram Monday, that fans “with a heavy heart” informed that the beloved puppy – full name Saint Norbert Liv Freyermuth Steines – died in her arms on Sunday evening.
Per Julie she and her family are deeply sad after the death of Norbert … those 2 months shy for his 16th birthday.
She wrote … “It was the honor of his life to trust to keep supervision forever changed my life in the unimaginable ways.”
Julie noted that she was planning to continue to post on the Norbert Instagram page to continue his estate as a social media star and a therapy dog … which inspired a successful photo album series and charity efforts.
Although Julie has not shared a specific cause of death for Norbert in her tribute, her update days after the beloved Pooch was “unexpectedly admitted to the hospital for high kidney markers.”
After a few blood tests, Julie Fans inquired that Norbert’s kidney markings “were still higher than we would like”, but noted that he was still being sent home to receive continuous care.
Hours later Julie revealed that Norbert had died at home.
