Zendaya still harbors anger over her ‘Dancing With The Stars’ loss

Zendaya still thinks about her contribution to 2013’s ‘Dancing with the Stars’. Second place on season 16 of the ABC dance competition series said W in a recent interview, she said she wished she hadn’t taken the show as seriously as she did at the time.

“I took it very seriously, which in retrospect I wish I didn’t do,” Zendaya said. “I wish I would have enjoyed it a little more and thought, ‘Eh, whatever.’ You know what I mean? But I worried myself. I really went through that.”

The “Challengers” star was ultimately defeated by Kellie Pickler and Derek Hough to win the Mirror Ball Trophy. She danced with Valentin Chmerkovskiy and took second place to NFL wide receiver Jacoby Jones and Karina Smirnoff.

Zendaya continued, “Listen, I still have a little bit of animosity about that. I felt that loss. I was only 16 years old and it was very stressful. Live on television every week? It’s so scary.”

She hasn’t seen “Dancing with the Stars” since leaving the show.

“I didn’t really watch ‘Dancing with the Stars’ before I went on ‘Dancing with the Stars,’” Zendaya said last October in an interview with EW is the prize winner podcast, in which she shares that she doesn’t believe she was necessarily the right audience for the series. “My grandma loves ‘Dancing with the Stars’, that’s her bag. But yeah, I also think it was a very stressful experience. I thought: I don’t think I’m going to watch this again.”
