Teddi Mellencamp is living with Kyle Richards during Edwin Arroyave’s divorce
Teddi Mellencamp leans on Kyle Richards after her divorce from her husband Edwin Arroyave.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum, 43, revealed that she lives part-time with Richards, 55, at her Beverly Hills home while she and Arroyave, 47, split time at their marital home with their children.
“They know we are separated and have filed for divorce. I’m nesting,” Mellencamp said in the first episode of her new podcast: “Rough diamonds,” co-hosted by RHOBH‘S Erika Jayneon Thursday, December 5.
“Some places you can just file for divorce…in California there’s a six-month cooling-off period,” Mellencamp continued. “You can do a lot of things in those six months. The way I learned about nesting was one of my good friends, she is a divorce coach. She told me about nesting. It’s where the kids stay [in the marital home] and the parents come and go.”
Jayne, 53, then asked Mellencamp how she and Arroyave split custody of their three children: daughters Slate, 12, and Dove, 4, and son Cruz, 10.
“I can’t explain our exact timing. But both Edwin and I leave when the other is sleeping,” Mellencamp explains. “We can both be there for sporting events… we are very happy to be together.”
Mellencamp further revealed that when she’s not at the house, “I live with Kyle.”
“I saw you filmed in the glamor room… that’s my bedroom now, bitch!” Mellencamp joked to Jayne and described the upstairs bedroom where she stays. “It’s so nice.”
Mellencamp added, “Luckily Kyle let me do that. This is how you know that real friendships are created [on reality TV]. I thought, ‘Am I going to have a place to live?’ I just zip it over it, it’s close, easy. She cooks. Sometimes. We’re just getting started. We are new to it.”
“It works out well for the children: we are just around the corner and everything is on a calendar. They know exactly when I come and go and vice versa,” she continued.
Mellencamp announced her divorce from Arroyave on November 2.
“After much care and consideration, I have made the difficult decision to file for divorce,” Mellencamp wrote via Instagram. “My priority is my children and ensuring that every care is taken for their privacy and well-being during this new chapter.”
She added: ‘Making a public statement is not something I wanted to do, but in an effort to protect my family from unnecessary speculation and rumours, I felt that being open, honest and vulnerable was the best way forward.’
Later in November, We weekly reported that Mellencamp allegedly had an affair with her horse trainer, Simon Schroedermonths before splitting from Arroyave.
“Simon and Teddi dated a few months ago but it’s still not happening,” a source exclusively shared Usnoting that Teddi and Edwin were both unfaithful to each other during their marriage.
A second insider claimed that Arroyave had spoken to Schroeder’s wife. Karliwho ‘confirmed the affair’.
Before their divorce, “Teddi and Edwin had been working through the issues in their marriage despite his past missteps,” the first source said, noting, “They stayed in the marriage for the sake of the kids.”
Mellencamp broke her silence on the Nov. 14 episode of her podcast “Two Ts in a Pod” after news of her alleged affair made headlines.
“I’m sure everyone has seen everything on the worldwide Internet,” Mellencamp said. “What I can say, and I try very hard… there are multiple sides to every story.”
She then stated, “I’m not going to confirm or deny anything.” Mellencamp noted, “But there are a lot of people involved.”
