Mia Khalifa couldn’t turn back the clock after porn shoots, so stripped down for OnlyFans

She explained that she left the profession shortly after being persuaded to do an explicit scene cosplaying as a Muslim woman, but was unable to turn back the clock on her past.

The Lebanese-American rose to fame at the age of 21 when she appeared in the viral video wearing the hijab, a head covering and a modest garment sacred to Muslim women.

The footage went viral within hours, with Khalifa receiving death threats from both Islamophobes and ISIS after being named the number one actor on Pornhub.

Now 31, Khalifa – who was raised Catholic – recalls the experience and why it pushed her to leave pornography behind.

“My brand wasn’t something I had much control over in the beginning. I became infamous by accident. I was working in a law firm and I was starting to feel like I was a distraction in the office.

“Everyone who came in, me, there were whispers in the waiting room. And when other lawyers from other firms came to visit, there would be whispers in there.

“And I just started feeling very distracted and uncomfortable. And then I realized: this isn’t going to change. This isn’t going anywhere. This isn’t going to get better. I don’t like feeling this way. I don’t like the women I work with looking at me a certain way, and I especially don’t like the men looking at me a certain way.
