Nicole Kidman thanks fans for ‘love and kindness’ after mother’s death

Nicole Kidman and her sister Anthony have thanked fans for their support after the death of their mother, Janelle.

The Big little lies actress left the Venice International Film Festival on Saturday, September 7 to return to Australia after learning of Janelle’s death at the age of 84.

The sisters shared throwback images of their family via social media on Thursday, September 12 an Instagram post.

“My sister and I, along with our family, would like to thank you for the outpouring of love and kindness we have felt this week,” Nicole, 57, wrote in a joint post with her sister Antonia, 54. “Every message we have received of those who loved and admired our Mother meant more to us than we can ever express. Thank you from our entire family for respecting our privacy while taking care of each other ❤️”

Nicole confirmed Janelle’s death in a statement read by Baby girl director Halina Reijn during a panel at the Venice International Film Festival, where Kidman had won the Best Actress award at the film festival for her role in the film.
