‘The Challenge’ renewed for season 41 at MTV, set for the summer

“The Challenge” has continued to follow his milestone 40th season. During the day Variety‘S FYC TV Fest, executive producer Julie Pizzi announced the news that the MTV series has been renewed for season 41.

“The Challenge” will return with fan favorite veterans Anesa Ferreira, Leroy Garrett and CT Tamburello. The entire cast and the theme are announced at a later time.

The season follows “The Challenge 40: Battle of the Eras”, which delivered the largest share in the past four years, an increase of 16% compared to the previous season. Season 40 was the first with all the veterans of the game, split into four different teams with the cast. Each team represented a different era, from the start of the show: ERA 1 contained players who debuted in seasons 1-10, ERA 2 Covered Seasons 11-20, ERA 3 Covered Seasons 21-30 and ERA 4 Covered Seasons 31-39.

“We are talking about what the future looks like, and we have some really good ideas,” Pizzi said Variety Prior to season 40 about the future of the franchise. “We have to keep trying to surpass ourselves and really try to go into the audience again. We have something very exciting in our sleeves that we have worked with MTV. I have the feeling that there is something to look forward to.”

“The Challenge” was made for MTV by Bunim/Murray Productions, part of Banijay Americas. Pizzi, Justin Booth, Jacob Lane, Dan Caster and Leanne Mucci serve as executive producers; Diego Amson and Brad Tiemann are co-executive producers. Joe Awgul supervises producer and Margaret Morales is a producer. Angela Liao is the manager who is responsible for the production for MTV.
