First African ‘Liar’ -Adjustment receives a trailer from All3media

The long -awaited first African adjustment of the Global hit scripted format “liar” has been unveiled, which marks a milestone for the growing film industry of Botswana. The series, produced by Botswana Ignite in collaboration with the leading distributor All3Media International, is planned for completion at the beginning of April 2025.
“This has been a groundbreaking performance for Botswana,” said Duncan Irvine, program director of Botswana Ignite. “There is an exciting Pole of young talent here for making films that have fueled the creative drive to produce a unique fascinating African version of this powerful and universally relevant story.”
The six -part thriller, with celebrated actors Motsoaledi Setumo (“The Wife”, “Soweto Love Story”) and Maxwell Dichi (“Generations”, “Muvhango”), wrapped main photography in November 2024. Filmed on location in Gaborone.
Lizzy Ribeiro from All3Media International praised the adjustment and said: “We are very happy that our brilliant partners have yielded such a premium adjustment of our global hit at Botswana Ignite. It is brilliant that the compelling scripts and powerful themes have attracted a prominent Afrikan talent, both on scouts, both scouts.”
Originally taken by two brothers photos for ITV in the UK, “Liar” has seen 15 adjustments worldwide, including in India, Italy, France and Germany. The version of Botswana will premiere on a Pan-African streaming platform before being broadcast locally on BTV.
Botswana Ignite, an industrial program supported by the government in collaboration with Steve Harvey Global, plays a key role in the country’s film and TV expansion. This production indicates the growing influence of Botswana in the global entertainment industry.
