AEW’s ‘Timeless’ Toni Storm on filming ‘Queen of the Ring’

While all the elite struggling fans know her as maintenance -poor, maintenance champion ‘Timeless’ Toni Storm with little saturation, cinema visitors will meet her Clara Mortensen in Ash Avildsen’s Mildred Burke Biopic ‘Queen of the Ring’, now in Theaters.
When both a lifelong struggle pan and an active participant in the sport, Storm says she was honored to embody an early women’s wrestling pioneer such as Mortensen. “It was surreal for me, very surrealistic. Clara, she was once a real person. I felt that there was also a creepy similarity. I had no idea that I looked so good in Geel. ‘
Despite limited images, Storm worked to nail the specific In-Ring killers of Mortensen. “I absolutely studied everything and tried to really nail in the role of a female wrestler from the 1930s and 40s. When I was filming the actual wrestling section of it, I tried to make it look a bit more old school and struggling the same style that they used to do. I have taken many elements with that. ”
Playing the role of the wrestler of a woman around the 1930s and 40s is not exactly a piece before storm, whose “timeless” persona is a tribute to a bygone era of wrestling. “I just really like the old-school vintage style of wrestling, the way the women did it then. They were so physical. It is my tribute, for all the strong women who came to me, who created women’s wrestling in the first place. ”
Working with AEW writer and interviewer on the screen RJ City, Storm’s storylines on the screen contain elements of classic films such as “All about Eve”, “What happened to Baby Jane?” and “Sunset Boulevard.”
“I don’t know how to describe it, to be honest. I don’t know how we think of this magic, “says Storm. “He is very in vintage film, and so do. I like old films, I like to watch them. I am a big fan of Bette Davis. I am a big fan of Joan Crawford. ”
But while Storm is inspired by films and actresses from the past, her sense of humor and approach to character is completely of her.
“I think I’m just hilarious by nature,” she says. “I am not inspired by someone in particular, I think I am just who I really am in the core. I have never viewed a certain actress or a certain wrestler and have something like ‘OK, I will copy what they do’. Of course there are certain elements, but it comes from somewhere in myself. ”
Before she can move forward with her record -breaking fourth reign as world champion Women’s world, the next challenge of Storm AEW Revolution, where she wants to close the book about her long -term feud with a protected rival Mariah May. In a recent promo, May claimed that she ‘looks at her and feels nothing’, but Storm thinks that is not true.
“I think she feels many things, and I think that makes her very angry,” Storm explains. ‘I don’t think she knows what to do with those emotions, you see, because like most people she is in love with me, she is in love with me. I am used to it, but it is very difficult for Mariah because she is ruined it. She did what she did and the rest is history. ‘
As for whether or not their relationship can be salvaged, Storm is not interested in making good. “She will always be a snake. A sloppy little snake, and I will never trust that little snake again. This is really it, I will never find love in my heart for her, or probably someone. She changed me, I am a changed woman. I will not trust as I did. I will no longer be fooled. “
The Hollywood stars that channel her wrestling, went the full method and struggled a recent competition on “AEW Dynamite” dressed as May; A form of psychological warfare prior to their pay-per-view fight.
“I really enjoyed getting into that role for an evening,” said Storm. “I felt very sexy, very sultry and just malignant to the core. It is very capable of being the woman out of hell. But I am not the woman from hell, if there is something, I am a bloody holy. I am the woman from heaven. But I have nailed the role if I say so myself. ‘
She may have had her pleasure to step into Mariah’s blood, but Storm says she is ready to put their messy affair behind her at Revolution.
“I will absolutely decimate her, because to be honest, I can’t take much of this child anymore that disrupts my life,” says Storm. ‘I had to deal with her, 18 months? I recorded her as mine, gave her everything and she stuck me in the back. This will be one to remember. I can finally beat the dragon. “
“For me this is really the Hollywood -end,” she continues. “We will never get back together again. I even submitted a street ban. She will never be in my life again. This is a real break. Do you know when you finally get rid of that ex who will simply not get angry? You finally get all their things from your house, that’s how it will be for me. I have already booked a vacation. ”
Regarding how her title Reign seems further than Mariah May, the timeless champion welcomes all potential challengers. “Well, we have a pretty flowering women’s division. We have Megan Bayne, that big strong woman who was made in a lab. I assume she would step if she is a game. We have Bloody Penelope Ford. That young horror actress, Julia Hart, I am also ready to hire her. She is quite the talented little thing. ”
“Queen of the Ring” is now in theaters. AEW Revolution streams March 9 at 4 p.m. PT Live on Pay-per-View via Prime Video, Triller TV, PPV.com and YouTube.
